Why Silicones

Silicone rubber is a rubber-like material containing silicon atoms in it’s molecule chain. Due to outstanding properties silicone rubber can replace almost all of carbon-containing rubbers, where top-performance & high-quality play first role.

Silicone rubber is remarkably stable and resistant to extreme environments and constant temperatures from -45°C to +180°C in general & from -90°C to +300°C with special additives, while still maintaining its initial properties.

Silicone rubber is physiologically inert, hypo-allergic, non-toxic, extracts no volatiles & does not enhance bacteria or microbial growth as a substrate. Medical grade Silicone rubber exceeds a pleasant, soft feel, is easily sterilized, facilitates healing and reduces discomfort in all medical applications.

In medical care,
Electrochem® is proud to present through decades of research it’s MEDICAL CARE PORTFOLIO,
for several medical applications such as:

  • Suction
  • Channelling
  • Infusion
  • Aspirating
  • Peristaltic pumps
  • Anesthetic Machine Circuits
  • Laboratory tubing
  • Scientific Equipment and more…

In addition...

Silicone rubber is a highly inert material and does not react with most chemicals (acids, bases, solvents, chemicals, oils and water), does not support or promote flame and does not produce toxic combustion by-products.

In Constructions, Automotive, Chemical & all other Industries, Electrochem® is proud to present through decades of pioneering in silicones constant expansion in proposals on elastomer issues, such as:

  • Long service life at high temperatures
  • Excellent media resistance
  • Perfect sealing
  • Low compression set
  • Excellent mechanical properties
  • No corona effects
  • Practically zero water absorption
  • Ultimate UV, aging & weathering resistance
  • Easy coloring
  • Low temperature flexibility
  • Excellent adhesion to different substrates and more…
